Tucked between sand-colored mountains and the iconic silhouettes of palm trees, Palm Springs hits different. There’s a kind of stillness out here that lets color do the talking—subtle gradients, dusky skies, and the way the light brushes everything with a soft edge.

Sometimes the best inspiration comes from simply being outside. This solo hike through the Audubon Center Bent of the River in Southbury, Connecticut, offered up golden light, peaceful trails, and a reminder of why I always carry a camera — even on the quiet days.

Fall in Connecticut hits different — and this family session in Beacon Falls was everything I love about the season. The light was soft, the colors were rich, and this family brought a vibe that made every frame feel natural and connected. Whether we’re shooting in an open field or tucked under the trees, it’s these in-between moments that make family photography worth it.

This session was originally captured during a trip out west, but the feel, the light, and the subject perfectly reflect the type of dog photography I love to bring to clients right here in Connecticut.
